What is the schedule for Part Time classes?
Course schedules at MUAH are basically divided into two, full-time and part-time. Full time (weekdays) classes are from 10AM to 5PM, with a one-hour lunch break from 12PM to 1PM. Part time (weekend) classes are from 9AM to 5PM, with a one-hour lunch break from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. If I am absent from class, do I get a replacement?
Students can attend repeated class over 3 cycles of the same course. This benefit only applies to Certification courses only.
Student A works as a nurse in shifts. So she can attend the class within the schedule and also attend repeated class in the next cycle of the same course. She can do this for 3 cycles only. When she exceeds 3 cycles, she will need to pay for extra classes at RM50/class.
This term is applicable for anyone who can't attend the classes as per scheduled in the class calendar.
Will you help me look for jobs after I graduate?
There are opportunities to volunteer for sponsored jobs and events available throughout the year via the MUAH Team. Upon graduation, artists are free to volunteer to help more experienced artist in their job and get their feet wet. MUAH will also feature your portfolio photos taken during the exam in selected social media outlets.
How many students in a course?
MUAH takes a maximum of 8 students per course every month. This is to ensure that our trainers are able to provide ample attention to all the students in class.
Who are the trainers at MUAH Studio Academy?
MUAH trainers are actual makeup artists that are actively involved in the local makeup artistry scene who are gifted communicators too. They each have their own style and are always looking to learn and push their skills further at every opportunity they get.
What language will the class be taught in?
The classes will be taught in English and Malay and notes provided for students are available in English.
I have zero makeup knowledge. Which course should I register?
We recommend that you start with the Bridal Day Vol. 1 course. You can always upgrade your course if you feel like you're hungry for more.
How can I start working in this industry after graduating from MUAH?
Whether you're freelancing, working in your own business or for a company, capturing opportunities is about selling your skills. A good way to hone your skills is to practice, and a good way to get your feet wet is by volunteering for jobs sponsored by the MUAH Team which you'll be a part of after graduation.
What is the future like for a Makeup Artist in Sabah?
Makeup and hair artistry is a growing and still evolving profession in Sabah. The services you can provide as a makeup/hair artist are mainly focused on bridal clients, but with the growth of the cosmetics and beauty industry, demand in makeup knowledge and skills are also on the rise. From organising workshops to providing personal training, to collaborating with bridal and photography studios, to working in cosmetic sales to freelancing.
Are there any exams, homeworks or assignments for the course?
Yes, all students will be given homeworks and assignments during the course. After completing the course, students whom have completed the required amount of credit hours will be sitting for their theory and practical exam. Not all students pass the exam, so it will help you a lot to be dedicated to the works given in class.
Do I enter class right after registration?
Registration period is open a month before the classes begins. Classes now are scheduled a few months in advance and students can choose which course they are interested in.
